Anita Anarkali (Made to Order)

Size Guide

The Anita Anarkali has a modern twist to an anarkali (and includes pockets!). The bodice of the dusty blue anarkali features a silk crepe contrast dupatta in cream with booti work and a gorgeous border.

This is a Made to Order piece. Due to the COVID-19 case spike in India, our usual estimated arrival time of 6-8 weeks from date of purchase is currently 8-12 weeks. If that changes, we will reach out. Please note there may be slight variations in the fabric. Two (2) pieces come with this item - the anarkali and a dupatta.

  • This anarkali includes small, delicate motifs woven into the fabric. That style of Indian embroidery is called booti (or buti) work. In this case, a copper thread is used to create the booti work on the georgette fabric.

Georgette is a slightly sheer and lightweight fabric that was first introduced as a silk crêpe fabric in France at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a very popular Indian saree material because of the way it layers and drapes. The weight of georgettes can vary but the georgette used for this piece is very light, making it perfect for dancing and draping perfectly all night long. Since it is a bit sheer, there's also a silky satin lining in a matching color underneath.
